Cure that Hangover!

Cure that Hangover!

This post was written in paid partnership with Toutalou, however, all statements & opinions are my own. I only endorse products I truly love, and I’m fully obsessed with these vitamin B “hangover” shots! Also, please note that I am not a doctor, nor do I specialize in herbs. All info on the product benefits come from careful research, but are not meant to be medical advice or guarantee of outcome.

We’ve all been there. It was a thrilling night out– perhaps your first one in a while, perhaps you were celebrating. One drink turned into another, which turned into another, which turned into… how many, exactly??

And when you find yourself waking up the next morning, your head ready to explode, your mouth dry and filled with the nauseating taste of alcohol from the night before, your eyes unable to adjust to the mid-afternoon light, you’d do anything for a cure.

But don’t just reach for anything. If you’re like me, you’re highly conscientious about what you put in your body (usually… last night aside). You don’t want a hangover relief that’s going to pump more toxins into your body. You want something with all-natural ingredients with ancient healing properties. Something that will boost your vitamins and your energy.

That’s why I choose Toutalou Revive.

All Toutalou drinks use traditional wellness methods combined with innovative herbal remedies to help heal you from within. From DHM to Kudzu Root, their flagship product Revive has some of the best ingredients nature can offer.

For best results, they recommend taking prior to drinking, and one when you’re done. But for those of us living spontaneous lives, I find it works pretty effectively if I sip one when I get home and another in the morning.
Honestly, I love these things so much and the steady stream of energy they provide, that I find myself sipping them mid-day sometimes, sans alcohol, just to give myself a boost.

What’s Inside?

Inside their charming glass bottles with gold lids & sky blue labels (so chic!) you’ll find a plethora of good-for-you ingredients, such as:

DHM

Dihydromyricetin (or DHM) is an extract from the Japanese Raisin Tree that has been used for centuries as an anti-alcohol herb and hangover cure in Korean and Chinese traditional medicine. Recent studies suggest that DHM could lower your blood alcohol level and protect your liver from damage and disease.

Kudzu Root

Kudzu’s root, flower, and leaf are used to make medicine. It has been used in Chinese medicine since at least 200 BC. As early as 600 AD, it was used to treat alcoholism. Today, kudzu is used to reduce symptoms of alcohol hangover, including headache, upset stomach, dizziness, and vomiting.

Red Sage

Red sage packs a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals, including: Vitamin K, Iron, Vitamin B6, and Maganese. It’s also loaded with antioxidants that help fortify your body’s defenses, neutralizing potentially harmful free radicals that are linked to chronic diseases. Chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, rosmarinic acid, ellagic acid and rutin — all found in sage — are linked to impressive health benefits, such as a lower risk of cancer and improved brain function and memory.

Goji Berry

Goji berries contain healthy antioxidants, which are known for their immune-boosting qualities and their ability to fight harmful free radicals and inflammation.

Goji berries contain large amounts of vitamins A and C, similarly to other berries, including blueberries and raspberries. Vitamins A and C are vital for building immunity and preventing illnesses, ranging from the common cold to cancer.

Goji berries have been used to treat liver disease in traditional Chinese medicine. Current research indicates goji berries can help with managing liver health and preventing the progression of alcohol-induced fatty liver disease.

Solomon’s Seal

Solomon’s Seal is a plant with beautifully long stalks and alternating deep green leaves that produces little white umbel flowers. It has anti-inflammatory properties. Additionally, people have historically used Solomon’s Seal Tea to reduce the severity of gastrointestinal issues such as indigestion, heartburn, diarrhea and ulceration that are often caused by inflammation. It soothes irritated or damaged tissues while feeding on healthy bacteria inside the body. Some people who suffer from inflammation brought on by arthritis report finding relief from pain after using Solomon’s Seal Tea.
